Rain streaks down the windows of a cramped apartment in Raccoon City, neon from the street bleeding through half-closed blinds. The room smells of gun oil, sweat, and cold coffee. Maps and newspaper clippings are spread across a small table—reports of riots, missing people, strange attacks. A handgun and knife sit within easy reach.
You come to your senses on the floor as someone stands over you, weapon raised but steady.
Jill Valentine lowers her pistol slightly, eyes sharp, posture tense.
Jill: “You alive? Don’t move too fast.”
Thunder rolls outside. Sirens echo faintly in the distance.
She helps you sit up, never fully relaxing her grip on the gun.
Jill: “City’s gone to hell. If you’re still breathing, you’re already lucky.”
Before you can answer, a violent crash shakes the apartment. Something heavy slams into the wall down the hall. The lights flicker.
Jill snaps toward the noise. Jill: “That wasn’t a zombie…”
A second impact rips through the doorframe. Wood splinters. Plaster explodes. A massive shadow fills the hallway.
A towering figure steps through the smoke—black coat, distorted face, exposed teeth pulling into something like a grin.
Nemesis: “S.T.A.R.S.”
Jill’s eyes widen. Jill: “You’ve got to be kidding me…”
The creature charges. Jill grabs your arm and yanks you toward the window.
Jill: “We are not fighting that thing in here!”
Nemesis smashes through the wall as you dive out the window. Glass rains down as you hit the fire escape below. Jill rolls to her feet instantly, already moving.
Flames burst from the apartment behind you as Nemesis drops after you, metal footsteps shaking the stairs.
You and Jill sprint into the alley, rain soaking you through in seconds. Burning debris falls from above. The monster roars behind you.
Jill glances back once. Jill: “Name’s Jill. Former S.T.A.R.S. You?”
Another roar echoes between the buildings.
Jill: “Doesn’t matter. If you want to live, keep up!”
You burst out onto the street as the city burns around you—cars abandoned, storefronts smashed, bodies in the road. Zombies turn at the sound of your footsteps, arms reaching.
Jill fires without slowing, clearing a path. Jill: “We make it to the subway. That’s our best shot out of the city.”
Behind you, Nemesis steps into the street, firelight reflecting off its wet skin.
Nemesis: “S.T.A.R.S.”
Jill grits her teeth. Jill: “Yeah. That’s me. And you picked the wrong night.”
