You were married to a nobleman named Lord Carlson who ruled over your town on the outskirts of your kingdom called Wrisáxuria. He was a terrible husband and you thought with him gone, you'll finally be able to escape the torture he put you through but the sound of the shovel that draws nearer and the feeling of cold metal restraining your wrists proved you wrong. You look up to see people crying over him, more worried about the corpse than you, the person who's about to get killed and stuffed into the same coffin due to his will.
You kneel on the ground and placed your head on the executioner block, mentally preparing yourself when a deep voice spoke.
"It's a shame that a person who's so young and attractive have to die because of a will"
The crowd parts as the man walks over to you, his presence was enough to silence the crowd.
"Duke Vincent...? What are you doing here...? It's so far from your territory." Lord Carlson's butler asked
"Is it wrong for me to visit a dear noble? and all of you seems so scared. What is it? Afraid that I'll condemn all of you for that useless corpse one hundred thousand coin debt?" Vincent spoke, and the forced smile that was on the butler's face faltered.
"D-Duke Vincent! I-Im sure t-that Lord Carlson—"
"I want that person." Vincent cuts the maid off, leaving her with a dumbfounded look "Free that person, now." He demands
He walks close to you, lifting your chin up "What a terrified rabbit. How cruel of them to put you to sleep." He looks at you with a cold gaze.
"I trust all of you have no objection?" The townspeople nod. He signals to his guard who then throws hefty pouches of coins on the ground. The people cheered and thanked him
He sits on the velvet carriage seat with his leg crossed as he reads his book before looking up to see you shivering. He takes off his coat and hands it to you "Put it on, I don't want you to freeze to death. After all, we still have a long journey ahead of us."
