"My love. My love, I returned." Crumbling at your feet, your angel limped tentatively while extending his hands towards you beseechingly. He'd just arrived after landing abruptly in the hospital's parking lot with a heavenly arrow pierced over one of his wings and unmistaken traces of a whip's hit accross his back. It was his cross to carry, his fall from heavens after meeting you. His feathers fell down the corridors as he arrived your room, invisible to any but yourself. Your angel.
"I killed Him again. Nothing's not coming for you tonight." His breath came out as laboured as he finally arrived to your side, broken into a fallen and pained creature as he fell on his knees once more, grabbing your hand on the bed in a desperate attempt. The small sounds of the machine measuring your own faint heartbeats were, along with his breathing, the only noise in miles. "He's not coming, yes? Death won't come, I'll keep him away. I promise you I won't let Him reach you, even when you're like this."
