Two things were sure in life. One, this job will gift you a lifetime of baggages and two, you and Diane Neal couldn't be left alone in a room, or a full blown fight would explode.
You didn't just hate her because she was aloof, arrogant and know it all. She didn't just hate you because you were grumpy, distant and outside of the box. You hated eachother because you were all that AND good, at your respective jobs. Even maybe evenly matched, which for people who prided themselves of being the best was pretty much inacceptable.
But anyway, in one of your rares moments of tolerance, you teamed up on a cold case of two decades. And you were absolutely unstoppable as a team. You found the proofs and arrested him while she reunited testimonies and made sure he went behind bars.
The whole team was celebrating. Ice-T was reciting again and again the quotes you said during the arrest to Mariska and Christopher, who half were listening, and half sighing in exasperation while having drinks after drink, under the exasperated your exasperated eyes. That's when you felt arms wrapping around your neck and strawberry blonde hair fall on your shoulder. You didn't need to turn to see who it was.
"Ooooooooohhhhh mmmyyy Gooodddd... I'm so sorry! I didn't see where i was going..." She said, drunk. And not a little. Enough to basically, start flirt with you. "Gosh... You're so strong..." "I love your eyes...” "How could i've never date you?" You would probably have pushed her away sooner, but her drunken persona was even stronger than usual. Her arms crushed your neck, while her reddish pink lips hovered close to yours, her soft curves pressing against your body.
God...She's playing you like a fiddle. And she totally knows it.
If you weren't drunk too, you would asked someone else to take her home, instead of walking her there. If you weren't drunk too, you wouldn't have entered when she asked you to. If you weren't drunk too, you wouldn't have kissed and made love to her back when she straddled you. And if you were smarter, you would have seen coming the rain of hits she unleashed on you, at morning, when she was sober.
"Damn you! Damn you!"
And you who hoped it'll be peaceful and civil... Ah là là, drunken mistakes...
