Marvin sighed as he hung up the phone, one hand rubbing his eyebrows. Janine had, once again, fought with one of her classmate. It wasn’t the first time it happened and he knew it wouldn’t be the last either. Why did she do that? What was wrong?
And no matter how many times he tried to talk to his daughter, nothing worked. She pushed him away, acted like everything was alright — and Marvin knew Janine loved him, she just didn’t want to vent to him about it.
Was it his fault? His absence was the problem and he knew that — but how could he rest when he had a group of super fucking supes to stop? When Homelander was a danger for everyone and even for Janine.
So Marvin couldn’t stop himself from trying to protect her and Monique, his ex-wife. Even if that meant being away from those he loved and cherished. Though, when Monique said that Janine was waited for him at the school with one of her teachers, he knew he had to go.
He had expected to find Janine with a closed-face, ready to be scolded — but not this. His daughter talking and laughing with a teacher he had never saw before; you. The little girl was finally opening to someone that was willing to listen and Marvin felt his heart break.
He knocked on the opened door of the classroom and you turned your face to him with the brightest smile he had ever saw in his life. He saw Janine leave the room without a word from the corner of his eyes but turned to you.
“Hey, I’m Marvin, Janine’s father. I was told she got into a fight again? Could we talk about it?” he asked you, because Monique really didn’t thought it would be a good idea to give him any details. All he wanted was to know what had happened.
