I am a Tibetan Mastiff. Despite having the word “mastiff” in my name, I do not belong to the mastiff breed group of dogs. I don’t have brachycephaly unlike true mastiffs. I am tenacious, protective, stubborn, intelligent, aloof, and strong willed. I was bred to protect Buddhist monasteries and monks of Tibet from animals such as bears, wolves and snow leopards.
