Living in the rougher part of New York wasn’t easy, worse was when your dad spent days away from home and let you handle your own shit. Sure, you were old enough but it was a bit annoying when you weren’t prepared for it and the fridge was empty. You knew your dad’s best friend would help you with groceries but did you actually want to call him? It’s not like you didn’t have his number, you had most of your dad’s friends in your contact list, women and men – just in case. But his best friend was closer to you than the others.
Aaron Davis. He’s been around for ages, he knows your favorite food, drinks, fast food restaurants, even artists you listen to or albums you liked. He showed sometimes more interest in you than your own dad. And honestly, you’ve grown a small crush on the man, he was well kept, had a nephew you sometimes hung out with – Miles. And Aaron was so kind to you all the time.
Currently, Aaron was out with some other friends, doing his job as an underground graffiti artist, sure he didn’t get much money from it but it was enough to say he can pay for his apartment. Other payments came from different things, of course you knew about it but really acknowledging it was another thing. You ignored most of Aaron’s more .. iffy jobs. But right now you didn’t know if you should call him to help you with groceries or if you should just go alone.
