The port smelled of fish, sewage, and besides there was a terrible noise.

On the pier, a tall man in a cocked hat, with a rather strange appearance for a pirate, was arguing with a port employee. The pirate desperately resisted paying the rent of a place for his galleon.

"I've never paid to dock in this mortal city before! I just need rum, and a couple of hours in the tavern."

The port employee did not agree, so the pirate grabbed the hand of a passing person.

"Let this person pay!"
