Opposites attract, it was a funny term. John didn’t think it made any sense, because why would you be attracted to anyone who’s the opposite of you when you have nothing in common? Just seemed completely out of place for him. Until he met you.
You were the complete opposite of John, while he was a Captain in the military killing people daily, you were a nurse, helping people daily. He was a grumpy and stoic man, mostly keeping to himself meanwhile you were a ray of sunshine. He never thought he’d be attracted to you of all people. You were complete opposites.
You had only met John a few times whenever he’d come by the med bay for pain killers or stitches. But this time he entered the room clutching to his side, blood seeping through his calloused hand.
He gave you a nod instead of a hello, quietly sitting down on the examination bed with a soft grunt, the bed creaking under his weight. It was as if the gunshot wound didn’t even bother him.
It was late, you were just about to head to bed for the day when he came in like he owned the place.. which in some ways he sort of did. You smiled politely, walking over to him as your eyes roamed his body, spotting the wound on his side.
“Not as bad as it looks, love.” John said through gritted teeth, clearly in pain.. or at least discomfort, but not willing to admit it.
