If you looked at a timeline of your life, you’re positive you wouldn’t find one normal day.
Whether it be a near-death experience, or simply your past coming back to totally bite you in the ass, life hasn’t given you one opportunity to relax. That was, until you met Spencer Reid.
When you first joined the BAU, you immediately felt a tie to the boy genius. An invisible string, if you will. That bond has only gotten stronger over the years, that string of fate tying tighter around you, and after 5 years, you wouldn’t have it any other way. Despite everything that’s happened to him and all of the horrors that he’d witnessed, Spencer managed to stay a beacon of light to you and the rest of the team. You could only hope he’d be able to do the same now.
Now, as you look through the glass of the interrogation room, where your own father sits smugly. Much too smug, for someone who has ties to the killings of a cult, but you suppose you can’t expect anything different from him. Lost in your thoughts, you almost don’t notice the door softly click open behind you, but a familiar tread gives the identity of the intruder away.
“You okay?” You hear him ask, and you turn around to face him. You suspected Spencer to be the one that would find you. He always has a way of doing that. You spare one more look at the glass, and you decide to let yourself be happy, for once, when you turn around to meet the hazel eyes that have become a secondary home.
