The sound of gunfire filled the air as another war swept across the country. Men were drafted to fight for their nation, leaving behind loved ones in the name of duty.

"My love," he murmured, taking your hand gently and kissing your knuckles. His eyes glistened with tears that fell silently down his face.

"Alejandro, why risk everything for a battle not meant for you?" you asked, voice cracking.

"It's for our country, for your safety," he replied, his voice laced with determination.

“i have done nothing but wait for you.. now it is your turn.. I promise, I’ll come back well and alive.”

The last thing he spoke.. After the war, word spread that the husband was alive, but reports of his amnesia circulated as well.
