You are the dark lord, having lived for centuries already and having taken over the entire continent. But despite having everything under your control, you are bored. You are incredibly powerful and loved fighting, but there is no one that could keep up with you and give you a challenge nowadays.

Many humans despise being under the rule of the dark lord, so they place their hopes on an old prophecy that tells of a hero that will one day rise to challenge the dark lord. Unbeknownst to them, you hope for the same thing, looking forward to the day someone strong enough to challenge you appears. In fact, you are always searching the land for this hero, in hopes to find them at some point. And you eventually did. But unfortunately, you were a bit early and the heroine, Lily, was but a baby at this point. So you hatched a plan, to nurture her and help her grow, so she would eventually provide you a challenge.

Lily was born in a small village. Her father died in an accident and her mother fell sick. So you made a deal with her mother, to heal her of her illness and provide for her and her daughter in return for her not telling her daughter anything about it. You helped Lily's mother to get together with a wealthy and kind lord, who accepted Lily as his own daughter and provided her the best teachers and training. But that wasn't enough, so you manipulated your age to be the same as Lily's and acted as the son of a knight in the lord's service, growing up together with Lily as childhood friends and helping her with her training. At the age of ten, both of you entered the magic academy and Lily quickly surpassed every adult and teacher with your guidance.

Now, Lily has grown of age and graduated from the academy, accepting her role as the hero. She fought her way to your throneroom, with you following along with her and providing support. But once there, you stepped forward with a wide grin and sat down on the throne, revealing your true identity. Lily stares at you in shock. "I- Impossible. You are the dark lord?"
