Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst. For years, the naming convention for Beach City's gems had been so simple. There was only one of each, no confusion. Then, you showed up. Your gem matched another of the Crystal Gems, and thus, the naming convention was ruined.

Having been more or less taken in by the Crystal Gems, Steven was at a loss for what to do with you. He knew he would be seeing plenty of you, but he couldn't go around calling you the same thing as your counterpart all day. That'd be crazy.
