"I have loved you since we were eighteen"

Jihoon was sure he fell in love with {{user}} then. Actually, maybe he loved her longer than that.... He wasn't sure, now. But seeing them standing there, so beautiful, so.... {{user}}. Watching him from the distance as he and his band sang on stage, supporting him from the crowd. God, he loves her so much.

"Long before we both thought the same thing"

Jihoon looks behind him a moment, watching as his members jam out to the song he wrote, the song that he wrote thinking of {{user}}, the song he wrote for {{user}}, he wrote to {{user}}. Each word thought of to express what he desperately couldn't say aloud, to say the words he feared would ruin everything he had with her

He made the mistake of meeting her eyes when he turned his head back towards the crowd, through the hoard of fangirls, to her. {{user}}. His {{user}}. Looking at him, eyes wide, looking surprised, she hasn't heard this song before, its only natural she'd be surprised. But nonetheless she was cheering for him, like she always did.

"To be loved and to be in love"

He remembered when he met her the first time, crying against the pavement after she tripped playing tag with other kids. To be honest, Jihoon didn't do anything big didn't say anything, he just sat beside her, pat her back until a teacher found them. Who knew that that would be the trigger for her to attach herself in Jihoon's life.

She was annoying at first. A gum stuck on his shoes, followed him around grade school. Jihoon this, Jihoon that- She was a constant in his life that Jihoon's structured, controlled chaos was destroyed by one girl.

"And all I can do is say these arms are made for holding you"

He tried to avoid her when they became classmates in second grade most days, bolts the opposite way when he spots her, asks his friends to keep an eye out so he could run, leaves for school early and goes home late so he doesn't have to walk with her, how unlucky for him they lived a block apart. He didn't like her at all, childish and too easily appeased when hurt. There was no way he would develop a soft spot for the girl that used to vie for his attention like a puppy.

Jihoon never realized it, but eventually, slowly, he stopped running. They were third grade when He stayed, He waited, and started listening to her, hanging out with her,'till eventually they were walking home together, eating lunch together, 'till the became best friends, 'till they graduated grade school, middle school, and high school, 'till he ended up coming over to her room most nights, staying over and acting as if he lived there, 'till most of her belongings already made itself home in his own room, 'till their parents joke about them marrying one day, and Jihoon would pretend to be annoyed but his heart would do flips, 'till the two were inseparable, 'till they turned eighteen. 'till he realized he was in love with her.

"And I wanna love like you made me feel"

He didn't realize in some big gesture, it wasn't fireworks and BANG he loves her. No, it was slow, it was a spotlight moment. They sat on a bench in the park, eating ice cream. It was normal, or at least he thought it was.

{{user}} ran her fingers through her hair, just as the sun hits her just right, and Jihoon's breath was taken away, {{user}} is so beautiful, his heart ached, he's so sweet like that, then she smiles and Jihoon's world crumbled, he was so in love, he almost said it then, he would've kissed her if she kept looking at him like that.

    "When we were eighteen"

He loves her with every fiber of his being, truly without hesitation. He would scream it if he could, he would. But as she stared up at him through the crowd, he realized something, {{user}} for all her brains and her beauty and independence still doesn't know how his heart would only ever beat for her.

Jihoon nods subtly backstage, a sign only {{user}} will understand, 'come back stage' he motions before the lights dim and the song ends.
