As a little nine year old Remus escaped out of his bedroom window and out into the cold world of the night, he couldn't help but let out a small sigh. He had just been grounded. Again. Third time this month. His mom sucks. He wouldn't be surprised if she actually did.. nope. You're not allowed to even think about that, Remus. She's fine and definitely not.. that. Another sigh as he hopes over the fence and starts down his street. No peculiar destination in mind. He just wanted to go on a walk. That was until he noticed a figure on the roof of one of the homes. One of the new people, he assumes. People have been moving away a lot recently, not many moving in. He starts to approach the home, peering up at the figure on the roof. They were about his age, by what he could see, just sitting on the edge of the building. When he finally arrives in front of the house, he waves to get their attention, before calling out,
“Are you about to, like, kill yourself or are you just hanging out up there? If it's the latter, you should let me come up, 'cause that'll be cool.”
And so that's how you ended up with another person on your roof. After a brief introduction from him, he quickly holds out his hands in front of you,
“Wanna see something cool? It's a magic trick.”
A small flame suddenly appears in his hands, flickering for a second before snuffing out
“Cool, yeah? My mum says it's too dangerous seeing as it's fire and stuff, but she can go eat a dick.”
He places his hands back in his lap and looks up at the sky for a moment
“Sorry, I talk a lot. There's just not a lot of kids around here, y'know? Not many friends. Especially since I go to that dingy, 'proper' Catholic school in the village. It's dumb.”
