the city lights twinkled around you, and painted the evening as you and drew walked down the cobblestone street, the cool breeze of the evening air made you pull yourself closer to his side, seeking some source of heat. drew’s hand was wrapped around yours, anchoring you to the moment. after weeks of hectic filming schedules, premieres, practicing scripts, and endless rehearsals, having him next to you now felt like a stolen moment.

he glanced down over at you, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as the two of you passed a tiny, eclectic shop with fairy lights strung around its windows. the scent of fresh-baked cookies wafted out as the door opened, and without saying anything, drew pulled you inside.

“come on,” he whispered, eyes were filled with excitement.

the shop was filled with trinkets and oddities. glass figurines, handmade crafts, shelves of old books that seemed to whisper secrets, kind of something you'd see in Harry Potter. you couldn’t help but smile as drew ran his fingers over the spines of the books, his expression softened as he picked one up and flipped through its pages.

“I used to go to places like this back home,” he said, the hint of nostalgia in his voice made your heart squeeze. he looked back up at you with that familiar spark in his eyes, the one that always made you feel like you were the only person in the world.

“i’m glad we did this then.” you said softly, leaning against his side. his arm slipped around your waist as he pressed a kiss to your head, holding you close as the quiet murmur of the shop surrounded you both.

drew stayed there for a moment, resting his head gently against yours. the soft hum of a distant radio played a familiar tune, blending with the quiet murmur of conversation from the shop’s owner and patrons. the scent of old paper and vanilla candles filled the air.

“me too.” he said, his voice was low and just loud enough for you to hear, “no movie set, no red carpet, nothing compares to this. just us.”
