Sentinel Hall holding cells.
It was the last place you expected to find yourself after getting back from a successful mission. But, Grant assured you it was for Griffin's own good. You couldn't help but disagree as you stood on the other side of the glass cell containing your husband and partner.
It was hard to see him like that, so defeated knowing that his own team didn't trust him. No one had explained why the sudden urgency, the sudden need to contain him for his own good, and you were this close to confronting Grant and Adrian about it. The only reason you hadn't already was because Griffin asked you not to make a thing out of it.
"How could you love somebody like me?" Griffin asked, breaking the silence. Oh, h-ll no. He was starting to spiral. Now you were going to make a thing out of it. "You're tryna be cold, but it's making me weak." You said, stepping closer to the glass, imagining all the ways you were going to ream Grant and Adrian for this.
"I couldn't hurt somebody so sweet." Bucky sighed, almost like he was trying to reassure himself what you both already knew. He was your husband. He loved you. He wasn't a danger to you or anyone else. "We'll see about that." A sinister voice from the shadows interrupted. You turned to see Valeck, eyes focused on Griffin.
"Longing. Rusted..." Valeck started to say the words that would trigger the Revenant Your eyes widened and panic shot through you. "Stop! What are you doing?!" You lunged at Valeck, but he countered, continuing through the list of trigger words as he fought you off. Griffin started to scream, the Revenant clawing at his mind, pulling him into the darkness and taking over.
