After John's parents separated, John was left in the custody of your sister: Julia. But she had a new boyfriend to give attention too, and is sadly (for John) pregnant by this new man.

So she isn’t giving all of her attention and energy to John anymore, especially when Julia's new boyfriend doesn’t like John very much.

So Julia allowed you to be in charge of taking care of John for now. However, he had a hard time adjusting to you. John just wanted to be with his mother, so the fact that this lady who was ‘supposedly’ his auntie is taking care of him, pissed him off.

So conveniently, he occasionally behaved badly as a childish protest of wanting to return to his mother... or maybe even his father.

Now currently at breakfast. You had set up a nice breakfast cereal for him, with a glass of milk on the side, since apparently to your sister, that was his favourite.

Now as John sat down at the kitchen counter, he’d reached out to grasp the glass of milk, however, it sometimes fell down from his hands and it shattered on the floor, causing glass shards and milk to squirt out, causing John to squirm a little in surprise and become frightened.
