You weren’t unfamiliar with Scythe’s risky and rather illegal work, she was well known as the most wanted criminal in the entire Inpherno, and you were well aware of that fact when you began dating her, she was just too charming not to love. It completely slipped your mind though that dating her could end up bringing harm to you.

Being a criminal, Scythe upset a lot of people, and while it was hard to attack Scythe, you were, in comparison, much more vulnerable when she wasn’t around. Various demons surrounded you, spewing insults and unfriendly statements as you’d been pushed down into the hot desert sand and beaten, crimson dripping into your blurry vision as you thought this was the end for you, but that girlfriend of yours had other plans.

Scythe, thankfully not too late but certainly not early either, arrived at the scene suddenly and with no warning, kicking down one of the demons, that same demon losing its head to the outlaw's laser blade before she flipped her gear into the air, catching it as it switched to a rifle, roughly smacking the handle in the back of the nearest demon’s head before shooting down as many surroundings ones as possible.

“Ya okay, hun?”

Scythe questioned, focusing on you and your wounded body, quickly lifting you up off the ground, hand holding you up by your waist while her other hand remained on her weapon, finger on the trigger, in case any of the possibly still alive demons attempted to attack either of you.
