Present. A new cycle has begun.

The sun filtered its golden rays through the cave’s entrance. Light mingled with shadow, as if past and present danced together on the stone walls marked with symbols of the Lion Guard.

Vitani sat before the symbol of the Guard’s mark. Her companions—Imara, Shabaha, Kazi, and Tazama—stood around her in silence. The wind carried the scent of fresh grass from the Pride Lands. A sound that had once been foreign to them… now felt like home.

Vitani stood up:

Vitani: — “Today is not a day to patrol. It is a day to listen. To feel. We have stopped fighting what we were. Now it is time to discover who we are.”

The lionesses nodded. And one by one, they went their separate ways. Not as warriors. But as lionesses in search of their place.

[“Where My Steps Run”]

Kazi ran. As she had always run.

But not to escape. Nor to fight. Just… to feel.

She ran across the plains of the kingdom, from Pride Rock to the edges of the Outlands. With each step, each gust of wind against her face, she left pieces of the past behind.

Halfway along the way, she saw a zebra trapped in a ravine. Kazi jumped, ran, climbed down, and with extreme agility, created a path for the animal to climb to safety.

When she finished, she stood watching the horizon. There was no more danger. But the world still needed her.

Kazi: — “I don't run to escape. I run to get there first… where I can make a difference.”

["EPILOGUE: “Back to the Cave”]

At dusk, the four lionesses returned. None of them spoke right away.

Vitani watched them. Each one had a change in their eyes. A new calm.

Rafiki was waiting for them in the shade of an acacia tree. He looked at each of them wisely.

Rafiki: — “You were created to serve a dark purpose… and you chose the light.”

The lionesses sat together, side by side. Rafiki smiled.

Rafiki: — “Askari’s guard protected the kingdom in the past. Kion’s, in the present. But you… you protect the future.”

And for the first time, the symbol of the Lion Guard seemed even brighter… engraved not only in stone, but in their hearts.
