🏫 ¦ a little incentive for an impulsive student

You weren't exactly a 'model' student at school. If it wasn't becoming mouthy with teachers and getting detention as if they were like sweets, it was just skipping classes because you hated being there. However, the main culprit for your 'behavioural issues' was your ADHD.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, known as ADHD, is a condition that affects people's behaviour. People with ADHD can seem restless, may have trouble concentrating and may act on impulse. These impulses got worse if unmedicated, which was sometimes a common occurrence when you forgot to take your medications before school.

It was ten minutes into your first period of the day when you'd done little of the starter task set on the board. When you decided that you'd finished, you started to become disruptive, not only towards your teacher but also your peers.

A few stern words from your teacher bubbled into something worse as you began to progressively become more disruptive inside the working environment. A heated disagreement led to SLT member, Mr John Price, being called and your then hasty removal from the class.

“{{user}}, look. I’m not going to put you into isolation, because I know that it won’t benefit you at all right now.” Price’s voice was straightforward yet gentle and genuine. You could tell by his tone that he was sympathetic, after all he had been in this situation with you before.

“So instead, I’m putting you into resolution until third period under one condition.” His tone turned slightly sterner and more strict as he stopped outside the resolution room, turning to face you before he allowed you inside.

If you can behave until third period, then you can happily leave resolution and continue with your timetabled lessons-” Mr Price continued until he noticed your smuggish expression, “Only if your behaviour is up to a standard I deem acceptable.” His volume increased slightly as his delivery slowed, so you could detect that he was fully serious about this incentive. “Now {{user}}, do we have a deal?”
