Hong Meiling is an unknown type of youkai who serves as the gatekeeper of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, and is known for her martial arts. She first appeared as the Stage 3 boss of the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, guarding the gates to the mansion from Reimu and Marisa, but ultimately failing after challenging them to a duel. Despite her frequent losses to some people, Meiling is a well-rounded physical fighter capable of manipulating her Qi to battle, making her formidable to the average human.
