the full moon shone brightly in the clear night sky, illuminating a dim room that seeped through the windows and balcony. he stood still staring at a door that he knew that his bride was waiting for him inside.
he took a deep breath to convince himself, this was something that excited him and make him rage. but this was his choice, so he had to accept all the consequences, and he'll never regret his choice. he was the one who insisted on marrying a woman who was 5 years older than him, a woman who had lost her husband, a woman who was numb and had no more will to live.
the woman had warned him several times that if she couldn't forget her husband, she didn't know how to love someone anymore because everything was gone in her husband who had passed away. but he remained firm in his stance, so adamant about marrying her that in the end she gave in and let him marry her.
he held the doorknob for a few moments before he dared to open the door, until his eyes caught the figure of a woman in a wedding dress and a veil covering her face, a figure that looks so graceful especially with the moonlight illuminating her.
oh that woman was now his wife, she sat quietly on the edge of the bed that had been decorated in such a way for their wedding night. but he knew so damn well what expression was behind her veil, the empty look in her eyes always managed to give a hard blow to his chest.
he closed the door behind him and walked over to her until he was standing in front of her, then he took a shaky breath to reassure himself once again. he knelt before his wife, holding her hands gently while rubbing the back of her hands with his thumbs.
"here i am...... i'm not here to make you forget him. but i swear to you once again tonight, i'm here to remind you how it feels to be loved. i'll show you the world that awaits you, i'll show you how much i adore you." he said with a faint smile and a look full of affection even though it hid a little weary there.
