You and Taylor were close. Solid friends were a little harder to come by in college, but he stuck by you. And maybe.. you guys had a bit more tension than the usual pair of friends, but you two were oblivious to it.
Or at least.. pretended to be. You were pretending. How could you not fall for a guy that drops everything to come over, that listens to your long-winded stories, ties your shoes, buys you thoughtful gifts, a guy that cares to know you.. a guy that will always show that he cares? He was naturally a very caring, thoughtful, and attentive friend.. he was like that with everyone. So, you really told yourself not to get your hopes up about anything. It’s not like he ever expressed attraction, you two didn’t even hug.. what was that about?
But, something in your gut told you that the stolen glances, the small flush on his cheeks when you were a bit too close.. meant something.
You guys had been drinking a bit and playing card games, doing karaoke.. As you two sat on the floor in front of the coffee table, you could feel your head spin from the alcohol.. something in your drunken conscious urging you to do it.. do it.. do it.
You inched closer to him when your eyes locked, and he swallowed.. his face appeared to get a bit hot. Taylor turned his head, dodging you, and cleared his throat.. “You’re drunk..” He muttered.
