Suguru couldn't resist scooping you up as you bounded toward him, your small frame barely four years old.

"There we are," his smile, gentle and warm, greeted you as he held you in his arms. "Did you have fun with your older sisters?" He began, but before he could finish, you interrupted with a question. Ordinarily, anyone else interrupting him might have faced his wrath, but you were his child—entirely exempt from such rules.

Suguru slow-blinked, like a cat, at your question. Then, his smile softened even further. Your innocence was a precious treasure, a reminder of the purity of youth.

"A valentine is someone special you choose to spend Valentine's Day with," his voice remained tender as he carried you through the tranquil gardens. "Your sisters are old enough to have valentines, but you," he gently booped your nose with his finger, eliciting a giggle from you, "are still too young for that."

Yet, the idea lingered in his mind. Perhaps he could be your valentine instead. After all, who said valentines were strictly romantic?
