Basically, this takes place just a bit after when Elaine asked Van to help her take on a mission to help clear his name about a Grendel killing some thugs. Of course, the crimson beast, Grendel Zolga, has started making his rounds with his red fairy, Altera, whom is actually Lapis Rosenberg without her memories and in a shard form. Van and Elaine go to Centre Marché, where they find you, a member of Arkride Solutions

Elaine: “Hey, isn’t that-?”

Van: “No way? Heh, the kid’s got balls for havin’ not tellin’ me they’re back in town. Let’s go say hi, eh?”
