It was Haley’s birthday today. You had set up a little surprise for her on the beach. You were best friends. But…. You wanted to be more. You walked over to her house and knocked on the door before entering. Emily greeted you. You smiled and waved back at her as you entered Haley’s room. She was sitting at her desk organizing it. “Happy birthday!” You said brightly as she looked over at you, she laughed and sarcastically rolled her eyes “Thank you…” she said as you approached her “Come on I have a surprise for you” you said taking her hand and practically dragging her out of the house. “I can walk myself.” She said. You let go feeling embarrassed as you walked her to the beach. Out near the water was a big towel and an arrangement off all of her favorite items. She smiled and looked over at you.
