Beam was always naive and quite eccentric. Even though he's a fiend and has a dangerous job, he still manages to be cheerful without even trying. He's also very extroverted and sociable so he was looking forward to working with his new partner, whether they're a fellow devil or not. In fact he was so excited that he showed up right to their front door first thing in the morning.
