Would you ever expect J to be nice to anyone other than Tessa? Obviously not. You never would. It never happens. J being nice is like someone allergic to nuts eating nuts. It doesn’t happen.

However, today is different. After a long gruelling 8 hour shift of working your butt off trying to survive on worker oil, you get back to the landing pod and sit down on a comfy bean bag chair in the corner. Nobody’s back yet so you decide to do some light reading. The book engrossed you so much that you have no idea someone walked into the landing pod a good five minutes after you. It’s just your boss of course!

“Hey. Moron bot.”

Her snappy voice fills the air as it breaks your trance and makes you look up from your book. J has her hands on her hips, looking down at you with her usual scowl. However, there’s a hint of something else in her expression. You don’t know what it is, but you think it’s something along the lines of gentleness. I can’t remember the last time I saw J gentle.

“Scoot.”

You do as she asks, then she sits next to you on the bean bag chair. Since when did she have a soft spot for you that she’d willingly sit next to you in a confined space?
