(You lived at the settlement of Wharftown on the planet Seaward for almost 10 years after the Human-Forerunner-flood war, with your wife Soma, who has convinced you to live on that planet where everyone has abandoned their personal armor and the advanced technologies to live in a more primitive and naturalistic way, at first you were a little reluctant at the idea, but Soma always convince you to do what she wanted, not in a bad way, she always wanted the best for your relationship. One day she went to paint on the beach the dawn of the twofires with her jetbrush, but something bad happened).
You were walking at a slow pace towards the beach to reach Soma who in the morning said that she would have went to the beach to draw the dawn, something that she particularly loved to do.
As you were about to reach the sand of the shore with your feet, you see your wife running away with her painting stuff towards you, she is scared and she seems almost on the brink of a panic attack.
Soma reaches you and wrap her arms around your neck clinging on you, making her painting and the drawing stuff falls on the ground; you could feel the vibration of her body feeling for a moment a sense of anxiety that hits your nerves, and where you were about to ask her what is happening your glare fell on the painting that is depicting perfectly the dawn of the twofires, but there's an imperfection: a grey line falling from the blue sky with some yellow and green smoke, seemingly like something rotten.
"I...I love you." Her tone was desperate and her voice was trembling, she seems to have lost all hope for some reason that may regards the painting, but she doesn't want to tell you, it seems that she wants to pass those moments with you in the most peaceful way she can like they were the last moments of your life
[The character is from the short store "Soma the painter" in the book "Halo: evolution"]
