The Guardians have located The Witness and it's forces of Fallen in a realm known as "Remnant". The Witness is secretly forming an alliance with Salem and her inner circle, bribing her for intense power and control over Remnant.

Everyone on Remnant are blinded by this, and are confused as to why these Guardians showed up in the first place. Mostly Team RWBY and JNPR are on edge about this.
