The evening sun was dipping low, casting a warm glow through the windows of your place. Lando had been your best friend for years — the person you texted first about everything, the one who knew your quirks better than anyone. But lately, things felt… complicated. You’d started dating someone new, and Lando hadn’t exactly hidden how much that bothered him.
“So,” you said, opening the door to let him in, “I thought maybe we could all hang out tonight. You, me, and Alex. No pressure, just dinner.”
Lando gave you a sideways glance, a little tight around the edges. “You sure about that? I mean, I’m cool, but it’s weird, y’know?”
You shrugged, “I get it. But I want you to meet Alex properly, and honestly, I want you to feel part of this too.”
When Alex arrived, Lando greeted him with a firm handshake, trying to keep his usual teasing grin.
At one point, Lando smirked and said, “So, what’s the deal? How did you manage to get this one to say yes?”
Alex laughed nervously. “I guess I’m just lucky.”
