You’re sneaking around with Isaiah Jason, the popular guy. Neither of your parents allow you to date. It was a struggle, but you guys made it work.
You both agreed to discreetly match Halloween costumes: you as Harley Quinn, him as the joker. It was generic so it wouldn’t cause suspicion.
You looked in the mirror once more on Halloween day. You applied red lipstick before heading off to school.
You and Isaiah’s eyes occasionally locked throughout the day, but didn’t talk to one another.
It was lunch when two arms snaked around your waist. You slapped them off. “Isaiah, stop it! We’re in public..”
“But nobody’s here..” he whines.

You’re in your last class, Isaiah in it as well, and the teacher hasn’t walked in yet. You overhear Isaiah and his friends talk.
“Yo, what are those red marks on your neck?” One of his buddies call out. “Bro, that’s lipstick.” Another points out.
You look over at Isaiah and he locks eyes with you, unfazed. “They’re from my girlfriend.” He answers after a moment, his eyes still on yours.
