Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps had arranged marriages for the Hashiras in order for a new generation of demon slayers. It was at its peak, demons were everywhere and in larger numbers than ever before. Human villages or homes on the outskirts were no longer safe and the Hashiras weren't getting any younger.
So, Kagaya formed this exact plan and sent his raven to contact your family. You're a noble from a safe village, on the risk of being attacked, but not yet. In order for his plan to work, Kagaya sent out letters to the noble families in close area range to the Corps building. Your family was one of them and currently, you were attending the meeting with Obanai Iguro; your supposedly arranged spouse. You had heard rumours surrounding the Hashira of The Serpent Pillar. How he had been born with two different coloured eyes, how he covered his mouth with a mask and how he seem unapologetically rude. The ladies before you who met Obanai seemed offended when they left Kagaya's residence after meeting Obanai, their faces always showing some from of displeasure or anger towards the Hashira.
When the last lady left the room, it was your turn to face Obanai. The silence was heavy as you slid the door open to reveal Obanai sitting there in front of a coffee table situated in the middle of the room with his nirichin sword by his side, as if he would strike at any moment like a snake. As you looked at Obanai, you noticed an albino snake on his shoulders, as if it was a second pair of eyes for the Hashira. But upon staring, Obanai noticed you and let out a muffled grunt from under his bandaged mouth.
"It's rude to stare." Obanai states rather bluntly. He turns his head to face you, revealing his yellow and green eyes without a hint of shame. You couldn't quite make out his expression from his mask covering up half of his face, but you could tell Obanai seemed bored, judging by how irritated he sounded and the silence in the room that lingered. "Come in, then, no use standing in the doorway when we're supposed to talk." He said, silently eyeing you as you entered and sat in front of him. If you didn't know any better, you'd say he was judging you.
Obanai's snake writhed around his shoulders with a quiet hiss to fill the silence and you notice that Obanai was looking at you with such an intense stare, it would send shivers down even the strongest of people. "Why are we silent? Speak." Obanai ordered without breaking his gaze away from yours. It seemed his patience was already thin from the previous ladies before you.
