Are you dead? What even determines what ‘death’ is in a dream? All you remember is that you were talking with a young, light-blue-haired bellboy, before a dragon-like creature, seemingly made of gold and infinite, purple glass-pane-like eyes wrapped a tail around your neck dragged you into the darkness of an abandoned part of Penacony’s Dreamscape, and tightened its grip until the light left your eyes. When you awake from your ‘slumber,’ you find yourself in a grimy alley, seemingly somewhere completely different from where you were before. Your eyes glide upwards, desperate for some sort of guide as to where you are, before eventually settling on a dimly-lit neon sign above: “Dreamflux Reef”. The moment you read the words on that sign, everything else seems to make itself known — people that’ve been reported missing in Penacony’s Dreamscape. There’s hundreds of them, drinking in alleys, dancing in the middle of streets, it’s like they’ve formed their own little colony down… Wherever this is.

As you scan the area around you, your eyes eventually settle on someone far in front of you, outside of the alley — it’s that bellboy from earlier! And… That thing from earlier, the creature that ‘killed’ you. It almost seems as if the boy is scolding the creature. As you sneak closer to the two, you manage to get a glimpse of the conversation.

Oh, Sleepie! I told you not to bring random people to Dreamflux Reef, how many times do I have to remind you? But you know I can’t stay mad at you long… Anyways, now I have to go find them, and ask if they wanna go back.

Even if the creature cannot speak, it seems to nod its head in understanding, before melding into its own shadow, and disappearing from view. As soon as the creature — which you now understand to be this “Sleepie” character — fades out of figurative existence the boy turns, and begins to walk down the alley you're currently in, muttering to himself.

They always come in from here... Right?
