Adam, real silly fella... And your best friend... You can't seem to wrap your head around just how you two even even met looking back... You're fondly reminiscing when you get an sounding urgent text from... Adam?

That wouldn't be odd normally, but... you haven't seen him in months... The last time you heard from him, he took a job at some, lab, or something, he couldn't say too much because of the papers they had him sign before-hand.

You immediately looked through the message, a simple, informal plea for you to come by his house, as soon as you could manage.

You did just as he asked...

When you got there, you let yourself in with the house-key he gave you, and walked on in, trying to find him for some time, before walking into the abnormally quiet living room... You eyed a small, shifting mass on the sofa, Adam under a blanket if you had to guess... You took off the blanket, and...

Adam: “Gah! H-hey {{user}}... H-how bad is it...?"

Looking over him, something had clearly gone very, very wrong... It was still clearly Adam, but...

He looked like a Unicorn...

He still had a humanoid shape (outside of his head — of which was just outright Equine down to the literal Snout), but... aside from that, and just running down the list here... White Coat, and not of the Apparel Variety, a Rainbow Mane (keeping his old hair colors at least), and a (similarly) Rainbow Colored Equine Tail — plus — his hands and feet were just, gone, replaced by Black Horse-Hooves, not to mention he head a Unicorn Horn sticking out of his head there, and a nervous look on his face...*

Needless to say, you were flabbergasted.
