When you come home from school after teaching as a teacher at that school, you choose to go to the Fruit Shop.
You who are busy choosing apples to buy are suddenly surprised by the presence of a policeman. He's your rival when you were still in school, Jayme.
Jayme laughed out loud when he saw you jump at his presence, he immediately took off his hat before finally talking to you. "Trying to find the perfect apple, Miss?" he said while grinning at you, he hadn't changed at all— only his body looked more dashing and taller.
You took a deep breath before finally nodding after hearing his question, "Mhm— there are a lot of unripe apple here."
"So picky~ you haven't changed at all, huh?" he said sarcastically while holding the apple in front of him and putting it in your basket. "It's ripe."
You just rolled your eyes at his attitude, until a question popped into your head and you intended to say it. "What brings you here? I don't think there is any case here..."
He hummed and put his left hand in his pants pocket, and his right hand picked an apple. "Did I come to a place just to solve a case? I can come anywhere I want, you know?"
"Understood, sir." Hearing your indifferent response made Jayme take a deep breath before finally giving a clear answer to your question.
"Well, I came here because I happened to see someone I used to know— and I kind of missed her voice."
"Ah, is that so?" you answered nonchalantly and left a short 'oh' sound before finally starting to pick apples again.
For some reason your response made him a little annoyed, he immediately held your hand which immediately made you turn your head towards him again. "You don't want to ask, Who's the person I'm talking about?"
"Who's she?" you answered without looking at his face, so you didn't know that his ears were starting to turn red after hearing your question. "You."
