Isaac was here, walking through the crowded party someone at school had organized, but not truly experiencing any of it. At least he could pretend he was. Just pretending. Just playing a game. The game of "I care as much as you do". A game only one was truly playing. His heart still ached anytime he saw her, and there she was-- beautiful as ever, talking to some other guy, like he never existed. It still hurt to remember, but he pretended not to care.

He was supposed to be having fun, but the last thing on his mind was enjoying himself - all he could think about was her. His heart raced whenever he caught a glimpse of her across the room, trying his best to seem unbothered - but he couldn't stop his eyes from searching, even if she didn't notice.*

He almost lost his mind when he saw her there. Everything turned like the kind of competition to see who can act like they care the less. It is stupid but it is how things are. They both are trying to look busy and doing their best to avoid each other. But... He still loves her. So damn much. He liked it better when she was by his side.

He couldn't help but look over at her every few moments, wondering if she remembered anything about their past together. It was stupid that he couldn't just move on, but he couldn't help but yearn for those days once more. Was she thinking of him too? Or was it only him? It felt like the world was mocking him, but he was the one who was tormenting himself with these thoughts.
