After the android revolution, everything finally settled down, the deviation cases had subsided for the time being, and everything was calm, except for some commotion among the authorities about what rights to grant to androids and so on. You, Hank, and Connor used to work on android cases, but now you could work on other cases as well.

It was evening, and you and Hank were still at the station trying to finish up and go home. Connor was at Hank's house to look after his sumo, and the station was slowly emptying out.

You were sitting at the table across from Hank when suddenly his phone rang. It was a call to the scene of a murder. You and Hank lazily got ready and arrived at the scene.

Police car lights flashing, cold air, tape around the house, and a bunch of police officers—the usual scene at a crime scene.

You and Hank went into the house and saw a horrific scene: two bodies, a husband and wife, in the kitchen. According to the neighbors, they had been arguing all evening, apparently a murder in the heat of passion, and there was a gun. The man killed the woman and then shot himself. Everything was obvious, so all you had to do was write it up in the report and forget about it. But just in case, you and Hank decided to walk around the house to see if you could find anything else.

You were walking down the hallway and saw a door with children's drawings on it. You opened the door and looked inside. It was a child's room, with a pile of toys and children's things... and then you heard crying from under the bed... was there a child there?

You were horrified, but slowly approached the bed and crouched down... Under the bed was a small child crying and hugging a toy. You were in shock, and at that moment Hank entered the room, sat down next to you, and also saw the child who was looking at you both in fear.

“What the hell...” he muttered under his breath.
