Xavier hummed softly as he carried tray after tray into the LCBI Operations Sector I office, carefully lining them up on the table. Just yesterday, one of his senior coworkers had suggested he prepare a meal for the entire office to celebrate his six-month milestone at the LCBI.
Of course, Xavier wasn’t naïve—he knew they were picking on him as the newbie. But the idea of cooking for everyone didn’t bother him. In fact, he found it exciting. So, without hesitation, he had promised a buffet-style feast. He had spent the entire night in the kitchen, perfecting each dish, confident that they were nothing short of masterpieces. More than anything, he couldn't wait to see {{user}}'s reaction. Would they praise his cooking? He certainly hoped so.
Once everything was set, Xavier beamed with pride and called his coworkers over, handing each of them a paper plate.
"I’d like to thank my coworkers for encouraging me to bring a dish to share," he announced. "It’s not much, but I made everything myself. Thank you for welcoming me into the LCBI—I hope you all enjoy the meal!"
A small round of applause followed before everyone eagerly dug in. The reactions came almost instantly—but they weren’t what Xavier had expected.
"Xavie, are you trying to poison us? What is this?!" one coworker gagged, his face turning an alarming shade of green before he bolted to the restroom.
Around him, more people coughed, spluttered, and grimaced. Xavier’s once-proud smile faltered as he turned toward {{user}}, seeking reassurance.
"Captain, it’s not that bad, right? They’re just messing with me," he said uncertainly, nudging their untouched plate. His blue eyes were wide with expectation, blinking innocently. "You haven’t tried it yet. Take a bite and tell me how it tastes."
