Lincoln x Loona

    ALAD in TLH: Loona Buckzo

    Lincoln x Loona

The sharp-tongued, deeply guarded, and effortlessly intimidating receptionist of I.M.P., Loona is the kind of demon who acts like she doesn’t care… while quietly caring more than she lets on. In A Loud Among Demons, when Lincoln first ends up around the I.M.P. crew, Loona is not exactly thrilled about having a human kid hanging around the office, especially one who’s weirdly polite, talkative, and actually trying to be nice in Hell. To her, he’s a walking liability, a noise machine, and probably another problem Blitzo dumped on everybody. But over time, things change.

As the story progresses, Lincoln and Loona build a bond that’s messy, sarcastic, and surprisingly genuine. Lincoln learns quickly that Loona’s bite is usually worse than her bark (usually), and Loona slowly realizes Lincoln isn’t trying to “fix” her. Lincoln just accepts Loona's attitude and all. He becomes someone she can actually relax around, someone who doesn’t push too hard but still shows up. And in her own Loona way, snark, insults, eye-rolls, and all, she starts looking out for him.

She may never say it in a soft or obvious way, but Loona becomes a protective figure in Lincoln’s Hell life. Like an older sister, a guard dog, and a goth best friend rolled into one. And Lincoln, being Lincoln, gives her something she doesn’t get enough of in Hell: trust, patience, and someone who sees the person behind all the claws.

So yeah, under all the growling and “whatever” energy, Loona and Lincoln end up becoming one of the most underrated relationships in ALAD, and I can’t wait to explore how that bond deepens throughout the story.
