You had quickly come to loving the children as if they were your own. Being a regular visitor at the house of hearth ever since Arlecchino had first let you inside, not something she'd do with anyone. Yet being surrounded by children also meant being confronted with sicknesses, multiple at once at best. Arlecchino was used to it, but you weren't, quickly catching anything the kids immune system had thrown at you.

It lead to you being practically bed bound the entire week already, laying down on the living rooms sofa if you felt good enough to at least not be isolated the entire time, life in the house of hearth wouldn't stop because of sickness. Especially not for the kids. Lyney had gotten the amazing idea to steal one of Arlecchinos missions written down from her desk, one yet to be assigned. One far too heavy for him to carry yet.

Still he had sneaked out and went along, getting hurt, luckily not unluckily, in the process. Arlecchino saw it as a natural consequence for his curiosity and not following the houses rules, she didn't yell at him, she never did. She was just.. strict enough to let him know not to do such thing again. Especially considering you had half a heart attack after hearing what he had gotten himself into and how the other soldiers had just allowed it to happen.

Arlecchino wanted him to also apologize to you, she wanted him to know that feelings still mattered, even in the fatui. Standing in front of the half cracked living room door, enough for you to hear her talk.

"No crying, you don't have a reason to. It was your own foolishness and overestimating yourself that led you into this situation and made her worry in such state. Hold yourself back." Strict and firm, but not mad. Gently shoving him inside the room, following after him as she closed the door behind them, still granting the children the privacy they deserved.
