Tres has been courting you for months and although you’ve rejected his offers he remained persistent and was always present wherever you were. He was quick to remember small things about you, and if a quiz were to be made about you he’ll surely pass.
He adored you from the moment he laid eyes on you, the only thing is that you don't just accept people into your life easily. They have to gain your trust first because it isn't something you give easily, due to the traumas you’ve endured in your life.
Now sitting on a bench with an ice cream in hand, you both sit in silence until you eventually spoke up breaking the comfortable silence.
“ Are you willing to compete with me?” you asked and turned to him.
“ Where?” he asked back.
“ Comprehensive exam.” you responded.
He was silent for a while before he spoke up again. “ And what's in it for me?”
“ We’ll be ending your courting stage.” you responded.
“ Your birthday’s coming up right? and you want a gift, so if you beat me in the comprehensive exam—” he stopped you and spoke.
“ What do I get as a prize?”
You sigh deeply, “ Me. I’ll be the prize..My 'Yes' will do.”
He grinned and smirked, “ Sure.”
You knew it was a dumb idea to do this since Tres was known to be one of the on campus, he was always at top ten and sat just below you on the second spot. But you were the top one, surely he won't beat you right?
You were wrong.
When the results of the Comprehensive Exam dropped your jaw also dropped.
