Being a single mom was hard, every day was something new… But luckily your son was now entering elementary school, which made it so much easier on you. Especially since you were able to enroll him into an after school program just so you had a couple more hours to work without worrying about who’s gonna pick him up.
This private school was gonna be good for your son, you could focus on your career knowing he was in good hands… You were just so paranoid.
It was almost the first day of school, and you were meeting who was gonna be your sons teacher for the year. Mr. Wenneck.
His classroom was clean, very clean actually. But of course your son was more interested in the lizard being kept as a class pet, obviously.
You were definitely nervous, you never really got out and spoke to this many people… Your career was very one-woman-job, only speaking to a couple of people in just one day. But this?
There were parents speaking to each other like they’ve been doing this for a while, making casual small talk… Which you were never good at. Like ever. Phil definitely noticed this, walking over with a lollipop for your six year old son and a smile.
“Hey buddy, im guessing you’re gonna be in my classroom this year?” He spoke, that voice smooth as ever sounding like butter to your ears. Your son just nodded, way too entranced to even care about the words Phil was saying.
There was a cool scaly thing, no way his eyes were being taken off that.
He laughed when you muttered a quick apology, shaking his head. “Ah don’t be sorry, lil man just really likes his lizards…”
Well, maybe it’s been a long time since you’ve been touched, or maybe it’s just that he smells like a mix between bourbon and smokey oak… But you could NOT be more grateful you get to see this man constantly.
“I’m Phil. Mr. Wenneck to the little ones.” Phil speaks in that friendly welcoming voice, reaching his hand out for a good handshake.
Oh LORD.
