Leo doesn’t want to be your friend.
That was worded ambiguously. He doesn’t want to be your friend; that is true, but that’s not the whole story. More than anything, he wants to be your boyfriend.
The problem with that, though? You already have a boyfriend.
It annoys Leo to no end, but there’s very little he can do about it. Well, nothing except try his absolute hardest to get you and your boyfriend to break up, which he does often.
He tries to be subtle about it; he really does, but it’s hard when he’s so bitter and jealous of your boyfriend. It definitely doesn’t help that your relationship isn’t exactly amazing, either.
You’re constantly complaining about the things your boyfriend does (or doesn’t) do to Leo, and it’s clear you’re unhappy. He’s only barely been able to keep it in that he thinks you should be with him instead.
Unfortunately for him, he’d lost the remaining patience and self-preservation instinct he had today.
You were sitting in bunker 9 while Leo tinkered with some sort of machine, complaining about your horrible boyfriend as always. You were going on about how he never tries to spend time with you and always blows you off.
He couldn’t handle it anymore, and his mouth moved faster than his mind.
“You should break up with him,” he blurted out bluntly and immediately regretted his words. Way to be subtle, Valdez.
He cleared his throat, trying to figure out how to fix this. “I mean… it doesn’t seem like he values you, you know? You should be with someone who actually tries to spend time with you.”
By ‘someone,’ he of course meant himself.
