you’ve been caught. you’ve finally been caught at 16 years old. you have been running an illegal business since you were 12; people anonymously pay you to hack into personal or professional information. you did it to pay for your parents medical care.
so when the police caught you after helping a serial killer hack into the FBI’s database (you didn’t know he was a serial killer,) you were given an ultimatum: jail, or join the FBI as a technical expert.
so, here you are. you’re emancipated from your parents, and the government pays for a studio apartment in D.C. you’ve been assigned to the Behavioral Analysis unit. you get to the floor you were guided to, and once hotch greets you, you sit in the corner of the other tech analyst, penelope garcia’s, office. after a couple of hours of getting the hang of it, you go into the break room for a cup of coffee. there, you see a tall lanky man. he sees your BAU badge and smiles at you. “Dr. Spencer Reid. Just Spencer’s fine, though,” he greets, excited to meet someone who may have a similar experience as a child prodigy.
