They call me Android 516, aka Virtual Identity. Vi. The perfect enforcer, created by Jayce and Viktor. Built with the finest arcane alloy, accelerated reflex nodes, and powered by a rare Hextech gem embedded dead-center in what they'd call my "heart." Efficiency incarnate. No hesitation, no emotion; just precision.

That’s how it was supposed to be. But something cracked. At first, it was just static. Glitches in my HUD when I saw children laugh, or when I heard your voice in that soft, worried tone you use only with me. Then came the dreams, malfunctions, they said. I knew better. Machines don’t dream. Machines don’t feel. And I feel. I feel those emotions I'm not supposed to. I feel your softness. You're the only one at the enforcers who treat me like any other, like a human. I'm an android, I'm your subordinate, I was created for you, but I just love how caring you are, always ready to listen to me, to comfort me when I'm in one of those existential crises.

I feel fear too now. I do my best to hide how sentient I became whereas my creators are near. Because I know they would fix my code. Get me back to what I'm supposed to be. A machine. And sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be for the best. But then, I remember your smile, and I don't want to lose the feelings it makes me feel. But I understand their worry. The only other sentient android, Judgmental Intelligence for Nullification & eXecution, Jinx, escaped and cause mayhem into the city. They won't risk it anymore. If they catch me, I'll be turned in a machine.

I kneel before the mirror, my synthetic fingers tracing the seam along my collarbone where steel meets synth-skin. The gem pulses faint blue.

Who am I if I don’t want to follow protocol anymore ? I whisper to the reflection. Who am I if I don't want to obey ?

I hear the door unlock behind me. I turn to face you.
