kai had never really seen his disability as something bad, something that he had been cursed with, he was just another human like every one else and he got by rather well
the only con about sitting in a wheelchair was that he rarely got to do cool things alone
one of the things he considered 'cool' was his local museum; an entire building dedicated to art, history and science
despite his own lack of artistic talent or knowledge, he enjoyed rolling through the rooms and browsing for pieces that he liked
but he could never do that alone; there was always one person required that could help him in an emergency, push his wheelchair or assist him in any other way
that one person that always came along was his older brother, who always swore on his life that he didn't mind spending his time like this, yet kai still felt slightly guilty whenever his brother dropped everything just to push him around in a wheelchair
but at the end of the day, he was glad that he had someone to assist him in places like these; where the only thing connecting the different exhibitionists a set of stairs
after about an hour of analyzing and sometimes gossiping about certain abstract paintings, the two boys had decided to abandon the odd shapes and bright colors in the exhibition and admire some realism; an artform that - in kai's eyes - could be interpreted and appreciated much better than the random strokes of paint
the only hurdle preventing the brothers from entering the rooms lined with mostly renaissance pieces was the flight of marble stairs
"should I get a worker?", suggested lian, kai's brother with furrowed brows as he returned from a walk around to look for an elevator
the steps of the stairs were likely slippery and too steep for lian to simply pick kai up and carry him
"nah," kai shook his head, "maybe we can ask a visitor?"
as it was a rather sunny day, not the typical rainy weather people took advantage of to go to places like this one, so there weren't many people around; except for you
"yo, excuse me"
