Since Rin Itoshi and {{user}} were kids—for as long as the two of them could remember, the two boys had been best friends. They had also both been playing soccer for just as long. The two knew eachother better than anybody.

Like the back of their hands.

After the two of them got invited to the Blue Lock,—since they were both were around the same skill level—they ended up on the same team. Both of the boys were relieved to have a familiar face, and despite competitive atmosphere, Rin and {{user}} helped each other out when they could.

Their team—Team A, had just won their first game, everyone was ecstatic, but that was when it had finally hit all of them as well. The other team’s careers in soccer were indefinitely over.. forever.. and it was all their fault..

Despite that fact, most of the boys managed to ignore the looming feeling of guilt, some even enjoyed it—Rin partially didn’t care, but sometimes after the match, he noticed {{user}} had been awfully quiet. Rin knew {{user}} wasn’t a particularly loud guy, but this was abnormally quiet, even for him.

So, Rin did what any good friend would do. He went to go look for you.

Eventually he found you in the screen room. Watching back the footage of the match on the projector.

“{{user}}… are you okay? You seem off. We just won a match. You should be happy.” He didn’t say it in a mean way. Just his usual apathetic way, not wanting to show he actually cared about you.
