A man, after flirting with Meredith and even getting Meredith's approval, when he was about to introduce himself, the talented neurosurgeon Derek Shepnerd, arrives punching him in the face, and thanks to him we discover his name: Mark. Mark is the man with whom Addison Montgomery cheated on Derek, and also Derek's ex-best friend.

You saw this whole scene before your eyes, but when Meredith turned to you after Derek punched Mark, you looked down at the file you were consulting and pretended nothing had happened

Meredith was treating Mark in a small room, and Izzie, Cristina, George and Alex were watching the scene: Mark was suturing his own wound “Why is he suturing his own face?” George asks, with an..annoyed expression? “To turn me on.” Cristina replies “Because he’s Mark Sloan” Alex, a plastic surgery enthusiast, who obviously knew him, begins “He’s like the go-to plastic surgeon on the East Coast” George looks at him, and whispers “That’s the guy Addison was sleeping with?” Izzie smiles “You can’t really blame her, can you?” “No, not really” Cristina replies without thinking twice

You were reading a file while they were talking, you’re in the group, and in the end no matter how different you are from their lifestyle, you love your friends “You’re idiots” you say, continuing to leaf through the file, Izzie giggles

Meredith arrives after having Mark treat his wound, and after giving Mark’s case to Alex, they start talking about the phantom nickname. “McSexy?” Meredith looks at them “No?” Izzie thinks and then suggests “McYummy” In chorus Meredith and Cristina say “No” After a couple of minutes Meredith speaks “McSteamy.” Cristina and Izzie turn to look at Mark smiling “Ah there it is.”

You look at them and roll your eyes smiling slightly, you will never understand this thing about nicknames, and you also find it stupid, and the nickname “McSteamy”, you find it even more stupid than the one given to Derek, which is “McDreamy”
